About AXIS
AXIS Environmental Intelligence Group was founded to provide scientifically grounded advisory support for complex environmental challenges requiring analytical rigor, interdisciplinary interpretation, and defensible scientific evaluation.

AXIS EIG supports environmental, regulatory, and public health decision-making involving emerging contaminants, environmental exposures, technical scientific evaluation, and complex environmental health concerns.
Scientific Approach
AXIS Environmental Intelligence Group approaches complex environmental and public health challenges through evidence-based evaluation and defensible scientific interpretation. We operate on the belief that meaningful scientific evaluation requires integration across toxicological evidence, environmental data, analytical chemistry, exposure assessment, regulatory science, and technical literature to develop clear, defensible, and actionable scientific interpretations.
This approach supports the development of scientifically rigorous work products tailored to highly complex environmental and public health challenges, including technical evidence synthesis across multiple sources, regulatory and toxicological interpretation, environmental data analysis, scientific reporting, expert rebuttal evaluation, legislative scientific advisory, and strategic scientific communication across regulatory, legal, and public health contexts.
AXIS EIG recognizes that emerging contaminant and environmental health challenges frequently involve complex exposure scenarios, evolving toxicological understanding, and scientific uncertainty related to chronic low-dose and cumulative environmental exposures. The firm supports evidence-based scientific evaluation and precaution-informed interpretation where environmental persistence, exposure potential, and public health implications warrant careful technical consideration.
Founder & Principle Scientific Advisor

Nicole M. Dennis, Ph.D. is an environmental scientist specializing in environmental toxicology, analytical chemistry, exposure science, and emerging contaminant evaluation involving complex environmental and public health challenges. Her work focuses on the integration of toxicological evidence, environmental data, analytical interpretation, and regulatory scientific evaluation to support defensible scientific assessment and informed environmental decision-making across complex contaminant and public health issues.
This work frequently involves the synthesis and interpretation of complex scientific, toxicological, regulatory, and environmental information from multiple sources to support technically rigorous and actionable scientific evaluation. Dr. Dennis has contributed to scientific reporting, environmental health interpretation, regulatory and toxicological analysis, expert rebuttal evaluation, legislative scientific advisory, and technical evidence synthesis involving emerging contaminants and complex environmental exposure concerns.
Dr. Dennis holds interdisciplinary scientific training from leading institutions across the United States spanning environmental science, toxicology, analytical chemistry, and public health. Her background includes research and applied scientific evaluation involving emerging contaminants, environmental exposure pathways, toxicological experimentation and interpretation, and complex environmental health analyses, alongside contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, environmental research initiatives, and technical scientific assessment across academic, regulatory, and public health contexts.
Contributing Scientific Experts

Steven Lasee, MS, Ph.D. is an environmental toxicologist with expertise in risk assessment, chemical fate and transport, exposure, and the Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) chemical group. Dr. Lasee is the founder and principal scientist at Lasee Research & Consulting, where he has advised and worked with several universities, companies, non-profit organizations, and state and federal government agencies on projects surrounding PFAS and PFAS contamination (laseeconsulting.com). He has authored several scientific publications and chapters focused on PFAS environmental behavior and exposure potentials. Dr. Lasee also authored the first study finding microplastics in an aquifer. His focus is on understanding human and environmental exposure to toxicants and how they relate to illness.
